German renewables outfit BayWa has snapped up the Stroupster wind farm in Caithness, near Wick, to cement its presence in the UK market.
Subsequently bought by Greencoat December 2015
The scheme is likely to have 12 turbines and an installed capacity of around 28 MW. Grid connection is expected in late 2014, with commercial operations kicking off in early 2015

Caithness wind farm bought by Greencoat for £85m
PRIVATE equity group Greencoat has completed its largest single investment in UK wind energy with the £85 million acquisition of STROUPSTER in Caithness. (November 2015)
STROUPSTER Wind Farm
The STROUPSTER wind farm was acquired by BayWa r.e. from RWE npower in 2013 as part of a longer-term UK pipeline investment. BayWa r.e. developed and constructed the project in the role of project owner and EPC contractor.
