An agreement has been reached with Centrica to purchase the entire energy output from the wind farm. When operational, the wind farm will mitigate the release of around 173,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.

Braes of Doune SPV was owned jointly by Braes of Doune Holdco, a subsidiary of SSE, and a subsidiary of Centrica. Greencoat UK Wind acquired SSE's 100 percent interest in Braes of Doune Holdco.

Two new wind farms which will generate enough power for 118,000 homes have been given the go-ahead. Deputy Enterprise Minister Allan Wilson has announced turbines will be built at BRAES OF DOUNE, near Dunblane, and Farr, near Tomatin in the Highland
