November 2013. Scottish Borders Council continue to object

Wind Energy have plans for a 120MW scheme in Borders.
The turbines will have a hub height of 80 m and a rotor diameter of 90 m, with a tip height of 125 m above ground level.

Fresh proposals for 22 turbines (55MW) were on the table but councillors decided to oppose them once again.

n July 2013 Wind Energy produced further Supplementary Environental Information (SEI) which made additional changes to the proposal including the removal of a further two turbines; the reduction in tip height of nine turbines from 125m to 100m and the removal of sections of wind farm access track.

After an extensive programme of community consultation and details technical and environmental studies, a planning application was submitted in **** 2012 for 34-turbines of up to 125m.If consented, Glenmorie will provide:- **MW of electricity (enough to power **,*** homes each year)- ** FTE jobs during construction- ** FTE jobs once operational- £** investment in the local and wider economy- A community fund of up to £** each year to support local causesA decision on Glenmorie Wind Farm will be made by a Reporter appointed by the Scottish Government at a Public Local Inquiry. We expect this to take place in late 2013.With a major contribution to energy generation, significant investment and new job creation, we hope Glenmorie will be consented and deliver a valuable contribution to Scotland’s economic and energy needs. After an extensive programme of community consultation and detailed technical and environmental studies, a planning application was submitted in June 2012 for 34 turbines of up to 125m.
If consented, Earlshaugh is expected to provide:

- 57 MW of installed electrical capacity

- 102 full time equivalent Scottish jobs during construction including at least 25 local jobs

- 9 full time equivalent Scottish jobs once operational including at least 4 local jobs

- up to £28 million to the Scottish economy during its construction phase
