The application was subject of an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate and in October 2009, the appeal was refused on a technical issue. As the Inspector concluded that the scheme would not affect the landscape character of the South Pennines, Coronation Power submitted a revised planning application to Calderdale Council who resolved to grant planning permission in January 2011 subject to legal agreement being agreed.
Coronation Power are presently considering a wind farm at Todmorden Moor consisting of up to five turbines. ach turbine will produce up to 3 MW of power, giving the site a potential output of up to 15 MW.
